i'm not really trying to be cute about this

a lot of you have fried your brains on the news and have been engaging in some incredibly offputting, antisocial shit and you should feel bad

if you you are soulless enough to embrace TERF politics, it brings me great pleasure to remind you that you will end up a loser, in addition to being a bigot

Look. Lady. You're a white Brit who hopped the channel and is being snide to a Cherokee man. I get that you're high on your own supply of how racism isn't a thing in Europe, but nobody reading your posts is actually fooled.

I heard from a friend at a top school that their law review had received an absurd number of submissions (even more absurd than usual), they think because law profs are now using AI to write articles. :( if that's widespread it certainly could be lessening the likelihood of all articles getting read

Who are the members of the EU?

05.03.2026 23:43 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

"You lot," says the very obvious British expat to the EU, while condescending to a member of a nation who barely survived the colonization that her country of birth and countries of choice embarked upon.

You're a "proud EU citizen" as per your bio. So, no, you aren't personally responsible for the Trail of Tears--nobody alive is personally responsible--but you are a proud citizen of a polity that directly genocided innumerable civilizations. And you ARE responsible for this appalling post you made.

this has nothing to do with being bougie. if you wake up every time you turn your head at night for a month straight, $200 on a pillow will feel like nothing.

Thanks for the correction! I think you’re right that in theory it’s possible, but I’d be astonished if the court accepted a disbarred attorney.

Unless every single attorney is coming in pro hac vice, which I doubt the courts will approve of.

As far as I’m aware, in my jurisdiction (Middle District of Louisiana) you have to be barred in state and accepted by the district. I believe this is the case in the Eastern District as well.

IT DOESN’T EVEN LOOK REAL

IT LOOKS LIKE A BAD PHOTOSHOP

PEOPLE WOULD BE MOCKED FOR FALLING FOR THIS IN THE MID 2000S

Neglected prioritizing my mental health even as I became unable to drive an hour and a half away or to walk more than five city blocks due to anxiety.

Can date my earliest memory to within an hour (the eye of Hurricane Andrew passing over my hometown).

I think everybody basically registers that there are a large number of religious liberals, I think a lot of people just sort of subconsciously file them as ineffectual useful idiots for reactionary religious people, who are the real religious people.

Volkism, basically.

In fairness, the Episcopal Church wasn’t uniformly okay with gay kids until VERY recently. My parochial middle school was not okay with gay kids, and that was in the early 2000s. So there hasn’t been much time for people to be exposed to churches where it is uniform as a matter of doctrine.

FWIW, it’s probably generational. I grew up in a moderate rural Methodist church with folks of all kinds. I didn’t understand that it was a norm-shaping experience until much later. That was right before the demographic crash, and with the demographic crash, there’s been a new baseline for folks.

To them, no, but state supreme courts are the most jealous petty fiefdoms in this country.

People can’t grasp that Christianity is like 2,000 different religions wearing a trench coat.

That’s not embarrassing. The only thing silly about “boy kibble” is the attempt to hypermasculinize staple foods

White Parisians are staggeringly racist. But as for the language itself, yes, people will almost always switch to English while appreciating that you made the attempt. They simply aren’t interested in having a laborious conversation in French when both of you can speak English fluently.

“Parisians are rude when people try to speak French,” says person who is about to go write an article about how small talk in NYC should be a capital offense.

Northerner detected.

Nobody in the South thinks “y’all” is appropriated when other folks use it. More people should use it.

And Parisians are perfectly polite to American tourists trying to speak French, though they’ll usually switch to English so you can get the conversation done.

The use of a convenient pronoun is not appropriation.

I used to think this was a "people responding to lawyers describing the law" thing but I'm increasingly realizing that it is a "people responding to someone describing reality" thing.
