@thesquareball.net

Just some numerology crossing of the streams for you

As we know

Dominic Calvert-Lewin = DCL
DCL = 650 in Roman numerals
6+5+0=11

So he's going to score 11 goals this season

Yes, yes it was and is reductive.

As many have been seeing and saying

352 works and has merits but not a panacea

I was worried going back to the familiar patterns when chasing the game that we'd run out of ideas

But it feels like the group have rediscovered some belief and confidence

100% this. The performative cruelty, the beating up on the poor, fringe and marginalised groups.

From a "progressive"party

Pandering to bigoted, bloodthirsty baiting media.

That's not democracy
What is democracy if all the main parties are the same

Give us a representative democracy

Earth Temperature Timeline

A timeline of Earth’s average temperature since the last ice age. Spoiler alert: It’s definitely getting warmer. And it’s happening increasingly, scarily fast. xkcd.com/1732/

Final thought #lufc

I was low level loving Tanaka's awful comedy finishing

The mishit left for grubber
The mishit right foot bouncer that went miles wide

Then he scores that screamer, wonderful

Seems like we're playing to our strengths

#lufc great game, great win

Nerves at the end even if it ended up quite safe

I live gudmunson and bogle's runs but also the feeling we can slow the game if & when it transitions

2 up top also just feels more productive

Two women - one older; one elderly - cycling on a segregated cycle lane in the Netherlands.

Two women - one older; one elderly - cycling on a segregated cycle lane in the Netherlands.

In the Netherlands, where the Dutch invest in safe cycling, the over-65s cycle around a quarter of their journeys, while the over-80s cycle around 10% of theirs.

Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and cycle lanes don't 'restrict freedom', they expand it.

There are block lists that some maintain.

These should be able to block known bad actors.

There was definitely good stuff in that second half, but I'm now torn.

I was on the "out" side of the fence after just too many mediocre outings

It could be his marsh, Liverpool moment

But there was, for quite a bit of the second half a pattern and approach that could be repeatable

@allstatsarentwe.bsky.social is it reductive to think 352 caused the uptick in performance

Certainly seemed to help prevent the over loads

The two up top seemed more connected as well

The 50 wealthiest families own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population.

How can this Labour Government say this is a "cost of living" budget and refuse to tax the rich?

They care about protecting power and wealth. And cost of living is a buzz phrase for them. Dire.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as β€œthe most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

I have both the #lufc feed and a lufc followers list

Partly because

the #lufc list was sometimes a bit slow to update and

I'm interested in some of the other non lufc musings. (We're generally a good bunch)

Been on a few more months I think.

Generally it's good. There seems to have been a drop off in responses (or maybe I'm just talking more rubbish)

But not being fed shite adverts, bot nonsense and trolls is a good thing

It's be good to do more follow backs starter packs amongst #lufc contingent

It seemed like emery was saying to Malen get into their left back position cos we can overload them and get a cross in

All teams are doing it to us

Same old same old. Good but not good enough.

It's the same every week.

"doing the same thing and expecting different results"

Farke's just too conservative and reactive

I used to think the tax billionaires line was ok but missed out on the quantity of money raised.

Ie. Yes they should pay more, but to make a dent in public finances you need to do hings on a big scale.

But when billionaires earn as much as HALF THE PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRY, that becomes the play

Comic called "Bikes and Cars". Panel 1: A bike rider rides in a street followed by a massive truck. Text: "Bikes could be our main form of transportation in cities, except for one problem:" Panel 2: Text: "It's like putting rabbits in with stampeding elephants", featuring an elephant leg barely missing a running rabbit who's thinking, " I hope they're not texting!" Panel 3: Text: "So, we either need giant bikes...", with a picture of a massive bike with tiny rider saying, "Suck it, Suburban!" and a Chevy Suburban that looks tiny in comparison with the driver saying, "Share the road!" Panel 4: Text: "Or we need lots more bike paths completely separated from cars." The picture is a giant truck called Glacier following closely behind a scared-looking cyclist, with the driver saying, "Are you kidding? That would be excessive!"

The thread got messed up as, I'm still getting there with bluesky threads.

Status update is

File shares working
Remote network access set up
Network printing and scanning
Ad-blocking set up not configured

If I'm away from home I can access music, files and the printer scanner

For me I used an old WiFi extender with ethernet to the server so the HP could sit upstairs This is more for initial tinkering,

but if you are planning to do a #homelab think of where it will live, will it be noisy, ugly, piss off others in the household

Also, don't put it somewhere cold damp
