Loved that film!
First saw it in Saltcoats in July 1981
One wonders how this might impact on Glasshouse & the Hall 3 development? π€

Re matters orchestral and ambition - didn't know about this; another large auditorium that needs to be filled (better get music back on the curriculum, pronto)

Levelling Up ??????
So why not "level things up" by the introduction of an internet sales or delivery tax, to remove the price advantage?

So why is it not written into an MPs contract, the number of hours they must work on parliamentary & constituency business in order to receive their remuneration?
Make all MPs ss accountable as all those in work who they are there to serve

Done that soooooooooo many times
Occasionally on the side of the plane that afforded the view of #Tynemouth
Would I have liked to have been there to live the experience? Undoubtedly.
I am fortunate to have had numerous such impromptu experiences - not all on music that I already knew/classic anthems & the like.
I continue to treasure those moments & the perspective on human emotion that it affords.
That government/society sees no "value" in music education and promotion & AI/music streaming/internet directly challenges a musicians ability to earn a living and allow them to continue spreading joy at a grass roots level that fundamentally keeps musics importance and relevance to
civilisation.
Cynically, this was not an impromptu event; carefully choreographed and stage managed. The people behind it and taking part are unlikely to have done so without some sort of (financial) recompense. Artistic integrity and fulfillment alone does not pay bills.

Answer 2
In short, I'm conflicted by these "made for social media" events.
To be there, in the moment, unexpectedly bearing witness to any impromptu music performance is without parallel. It underpins musics ability to spread joy, positivity & perspective.

Answer 1
Strange that barely any of the performers would not have been alive when the original hit the airwaves in 1975.

Please not another costly inquiry where the outcome has no material impact on the the individual or benefit the public purse.
Better investigating time spent on constituency & parliamentary matters in the UK to underpin MPs salaries & allowances
