Two very dear froends had to confess to each other that the twin beds they'd been given in a hotel on holiday had resulted in the best night's sleep ever. They changed from a king-sized to two doubles at home.

Of course it does mean going to sleep without snuggling the partner.

I thought the same but I still bomb at @heardle.bsky.social for those decades often enough.

I have, however, grasped the basics of the US electoral system thanks to His Nibs being a US citizen.

It's the same with shaving. They used to shave you, often "just in case the dr has to cut". (Which was often done whether needed or not). Now it's very rare.

Oh they've been mentioned twice in The Pitt (once in each season) but not for pregnancy cases. The reason most hospitals don't use them now is they often bring on more and uncontrollable poop than just dealing with what happens naturally.

They used to. I did with my first (42 years ago) but not 34 years ago. Will also depend on the hospital and the doctor.

Things that are almost certain: groan-moaning, a bit of blood, poop. (It's the same push, and you've got a large object squishing your bowel too).

Lotsa blood? Depends on how fast you push, how big bub is, and episiotomy.

Screams? Rare. They want you to conserve your energy for the hard work!

The Pitt is doing so well that they should consider a spin-off series based in the ER of a children's hospital.

They could call it "Pitt the Younger".
