people just constantly want new things at breakneck pace, its weird

another thing I've found i really like doing is forced, long backtracks through an area that's changed visually. You get to soak in the effects of what you've done, and it's a bit of a breather between climaxes in the area's pacing

sometimes wasting the player's time is good actually

one of my favorite areas in the game basically doesnt involve wendy at *all,* while in others she's one of the most thoroughly explored characters in terms of her abilities. It's not about constant balance, it's giving each character a time to shine

this also lets me embrace something I've been thinking about, which is (sometimes heavily) reducing the number of altars you can switch characters at.

The resulting backtracking makes each character's differences in movement more present, but the reduced backtracks make it be a bit more efficient.

finally getting around to fixing up some of DG's weakest stretches.
Some of these stages were made a few years ago when i was concerned with getting as much usage from each character as possible, but I've finally learned that it's ok that some areas focus more on specific characters than others.

A bit of an update. Dungeon Gals is now going to be SELF-PUBLISHED. I can't go into details, but the decision to split with the publisher was amicable, and there's no foul play at work here. It was a mutual decision that self-publishing would be best for the game. There are still plans for potential console releases in the future, but for now Dungeon Gals will be self-published and just for PC. There will also be an update to the Steam demo coming soon, so please look forward to that! However, this does place a lot more pressure on me in order to make sure Dungeon Gals is able to get the publicity and QA it needs in order to do well. Word of mouth is VERY important, and is one of the best tools we have, so please try to share my DG posts and art far and wide! It will help tremendously. Thank you so much for your patience.
