We’ve had a guest playworker from Australia visit us during half term. It’s a brilliant way to broaden horizons for children, caregivers and Rangers. A curious child asked if everyone in Oz walked around barefoot. Snakes and sharks were also hot topics! #P2N2 #ThanksCate

We hunkered down for a chilly #P2N2 session at #OxstallsCampus today, Ranger Mel kept a roaring fire going throughout the day to warm hands and cook feasts to fuel play 🍳

Our players made dens, bows and arrows and tested their balance on the slack line 🏹

Our Young Volunteers put in an incredible shift at #P2N2 Super Saturday. They were kind and playful and are gaining some useful life skills including patience, tolerance and coping with the unexpected!

We witnessed the evolution of water balloon ‘wars’ this week 🎈💦

Our #P2N2 crew gathered their ammo & transported the balloons to the park for the final battle.

They navigated some big emotions with the excitement, suspense & trepidation of getting soaked 💦

Soap foam created a lot of mess but a lot of fun at Cleeve.

It was a huge hit with everyone involved and requested next week to continue the messy fun 🫟

Our school nurture group asked for water balloons - a right of passage at the #PlaySanctuary 🎈luckily Ranger Holly brought her waterproofs 💦

We headed to the park to burn off some post-school fizziness, then it was back to the #PlaySanctuary for music, sword fights and warming up by the fire 🔥

The afternoon got messy with foam ice creams, slime and painting.

One child decided to experiment with a roll of masking tape to see how far it would stretch until it ran out, starting inside the #PlaySanctuary 🧶

The label maker was popular, used to identify magic potions and when the famous peg game was in full swing they used it to identify the ‘victims!’

An update on the Lego diorama created by one of our amazing #YoungVolunteers.

Spending time and money, Jacob wanted to build something as thanks for all the play (we met him aged 6 - he’s now a teen!)

Starting with Play Ranger Jasmin, he’s added Ben, Charlie and office dog Dory 🐾

Each week this term we have walked to #ThePlaySanctuary via our local park with our after school #PlayNurture group. Some older boys we know from community play meet us there for a very inclusive game of football on their way home from secondary school #EnjoyableRitual #P2N2

The stomp rocket was popular last night, this player spent a long time experimenting with multiple rockets, which often blasted off in totally different directions 🚀

Our session in #AylandGardens had a youth club vibe with friends catching up and hanging out.

They enjoyed hot chocolates with all the extras, and a year 6 asked for a debate to help them choose which secondary school to go to 🏫

Good shot! This was a v satisfying child led game with clay balls sticking to #ThePlaySanctuary wall. Sadly the Ranger was only given an occasional go. We may sneak back to have another go later!
