Mid-60s used to play "clackers" as musical instruments.
Consisted of two pieces of parquetry flooring dug out of schoolroom floor. Each piece perhaps 1" x 4".
Said pieces were held either side of third finger (via index and fourth finger) and "clacked".
A few of us could produce quite the tunes.
Perhaps sensitivity training.

I usually get to bed around 2am.
You can bet that Felix has already been non-productive for around 6 hours.
They were released.
We know a lot more about Allens than we did before.
"Footering"
Thank you. Consider myself reasonably widely read but have never prev come across the word.
The full stop after "me" is a blessing.

I'm on the other side of the world to you but also old.
I've used AI to search for specific car parts info.
Info was totally incorrect.
It was polite but nevertheless incorrect.
No.
These days it would have to be fear-based.
Brings back memories.
My best mate in late 60's is a Lebanese whose father was a big-time developer in Campsie.
The father had the status to 'hold court' with locals who had disputes over whatever.
Saved police/courts and worked well.
He (mate) also had a hot sister.
When I was a kid my brother and I had to wash and wipe up.
No washing up liquid in those days.
Sunlight soap in a soap shaker was the go.
Actually no hot water tap either.
Water had to be boiled in the jug and then cold added to get temp.
Had to be hot for washing up or the soap wouldn't suds up.
Hopefully they were looking at my bits during TUIP a few months ago.
In my defence it was cold in theatre...
Don't forget about The Turtles, ba ba ba ba...

My father boycotted Lowe's (menswear) for over 40 years.
Around 1950 they errored with their accounts. A van with "DEBT COLLECTION" written on the sides rocked up to our place.
Dad demanded and received a written apology from the GM.
Pleased to report his sons carried on the family tradition.
Ohm a bit surprised, as well.

Have never tuned in but have on the odd occasion heard "Mr 1950s"
as background noise.
Get on the bus, son.
The world has moved on.
I didn't think much of it at the time but it's stuck with me.
It was only a bit of beach.
I can't imagine how you'd feel if it was your home and land.
In 1967 my girlfriend and I went to Bondi Beach.
Was a weekday and not many ppl there.
We dropped our towels about 20m from a group of youths (half a dozen, so).
One of them shouted at us "this is a Jewish reserved area!" or something similar.
I knew that wasn't correct and said so.
Was I wrong...?
Mid-60s - grade above me on their final day lifted a teacher's Mini-Minor onto 4 garbage bins.

Reminds me of the time I offered to assist a mate (no, not me) sort through 7 years of business paperwork.
He'd been contacted by the tax office suggesting he organise his back taxes.
I knew we were in trouble on arrival at his home-office.
Guided through to his loungeroom instead of the office.
Bravo!

C'mon Hal... just the once?

Is your eye test and medical done separately?
My local GP (Brisbane) does the lot.
Actually, clinic nurse oversees the eye test and questionnaire.
GP reviews results, does peripheral vision test and signs off on it.
