NIH funding is still on the table, and members of our union will continue demanding it be restored. But the message is clear: collective action gets the goods.

In 2025, Trump announced massive cuts to federal science funding. UAW members spent 2025 fighting to kill those cuts. Last week, Congress REJECTED nearly all of Trump's cuts to NASA, NSF, and DOE. It also rejected his cuts to vital indirect cost rates. t.co/NlvKNsyRsi

UC depends on the work of both TAs and GSRs, but allows massive pay gaps that push researchers into precarity. ASEs are fighting for fair pay and salary parity that reflects the value of all our labor.

No worker should have to choose between seeing a sick parent and keeping their job. That’s why ASEs like Nikki are demanding real legal protections, visa support, and institutional backing at the bargaining table.

As Universities Fold to Trump, This Union Is Still Fighting for International Students While the University of California has often followed Trump's demands, union organizers have made protecting immigrants a top priority during contract negotiations.

Two weeks ago, UAW 4811 members came together to show the public what’s at stake as Trump attacks public research. Funding for much of that research has been temporarily restored, but it’s vital to keep pushing. Join the fight at killthecuts.org
