an obliquely overhead view of a Lufthansa 787. much of the fuselage is dark blue, with a large white crane (Lufthansa's logo) on it. the wings of the aircraft are also painted white, and they are aligned with the crane on the fuselage so as to suggest that they are the crane's wings.
i didn't realize until today that Lufthansa's special 100th-anniversary paint scheme deliberately casts the airplane's wings as the wings of the crane. very cool.

Terminal B at LGA is such a change from the old “La Garbage” terminals. Doesn’t seem that long ago that DAL, MDW, and LGA had those old and dingy terminals that made the Port Authority bus station in NYC look upscale.

#OTD in 1962, LtCol John Glenn orbited the earth three times. Glenn earned only $8 which included his basic pay and flight pay. The 5 hour flight was not long enough to earn a per diem. Plus he was not reimbursed for mileage because he flew a government vehicle.
