Got an incredible DNA match for a 3rd cousin from Hungary yesterday. Her great-great-grandfather was brother of my great-grandfather from Russia. Never thought I would find that close of a match for my Russian genealogy. The accuracy is incredible on MyHeritage. Get on the database.

I haven't had any experience with archives in that area of Poland. Has your friend joined any Polish genealogy groups on Facebook? Those groups are pretty helpful with knowing the archives in Poland. I hope your friend has a family tree on MyHeritage to help make some connections online.
