31.10.2025 21:24 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Since the start of this month I've made a lot of progress in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, but admittedly I got a bit burnt out on it over the past week or so. I'll get back into it this weekend
On the other hand, my Dad's started playing it now! ๐ He completed Final Fantasy 16 last month
As it's now been added to the GameCube app on Switch 2, I've just now *finally* played Luigi's Mansion for the first time
It's pretty fun! I'd only ever seen random bits of gameplay footage on YouTube until now, so actually playing it felt interesting
Definitely feels like an early GC game though
2025 might've honestly been the darkest, emptiest year to be a Kingdom Hearts fan.
Reeeeally hoping there's just *something* KH4 related at the Game Awards in December. Even if it's just Square saying things are still going with it

28.10.2025 11:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been playing this with a friend from work recently! (After both of us have completed It Takes Two in 2023 and Split Fiction this Spring) ๐
We're loving it so far, but still early-ish into the game I think
Thing is, this'll just confuse so many people because they'll think the 4th Sonic movie is a CD ("music CD") and not a DVD

This is my spin on one of the (surprisingly funky) boss battle tracks from Clair Obscur Expedition 33!
En garde and enjoy ๐๐ฅโ๏ธ

Thank you! I'm looking forward to trying those out soon ๐

I love it. I thought Tetris Effect's scenery was wild but this is absolute chaos
The same studio behind Lumines Arise and Tetris Effect should eventually make a Puyo Puyo game that has this same fancy psychedelic style and all of those particle effects
I'd purchase that instantly
A clip from the Lumines Arise demo I played last night.
I'm still a Lumines noob (I keep playing it like it's Tetris trying to fill the gaps, or Puyo Puyo trying to make long colour connections)
But I somehow made this big square when I activated the slo-mo powerup thing and it was VERY satisfying
Screenshot of Lumines Arise on PS5. A typical block-puzzle game grid is on screen, featuring coloured blocks. The aesthetic of the entire game is dreamlike and ethereal, with glowing light beams and transparency. For some reason two chameleons are on the sides of the screen, illuminated by the glowing aura, with their mouths open wide, and their tongues out.
In recent years, Tetris Effect has been one of my favourite games ever (not even just a favourite *puzzle* game") so recently I tried the demo of Lumines Arise (from the same devs)
I've never played a Lumines game before, so it took a bit of getting used to, but DAMN it's satisfying and psychedelic
Then I was in a sort of tall train station / airport with lots of parallel staircases going up and down. I was walking with someone and waved goodbye to her as she went in another direction (I think we even hugged???), but now after waking up, I have zero clue who she even was
...What on earth
Had a dream last night which was one of those "multiple parts" dreams
First, I saw a new Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer in a cinema (for some reason). Saw Roxas+Axel+Xion in the new photorealistic style and it had some sort of temple world
Then I was in a gift shop that sold nothing but wooden spoons
(I think we knew this since early 2020, I don't know why he's saying this now??)
19.10.2025 18:50 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I can't help but feel this statement is slightly... odd?
Games don't "stop running" and many systems nowadays have backwards compatibility allowing you to play the classics like you'd watch a classic movie.
Movies also don't last forever if they're only temporarily viewable on streaming services
Also much like Uematsu, when it comes to my own music or any work I do (including game development) I also don't use generative AI and never plan on using it
It's far more rewarding to learn and hone your craft yourself, rather than type some prompts for a soulless AI to shit things out for you
He's RIGHT there, come on, give him his own game

.....Yeah, this won't work. So many DS games have UI elements in the corners of their screen
If, like DS games on the Wii U, they just provide screen layout modes like side-by-side or vertical (via rotating your Switch sideways) that'd be ideal

13.10.2025 06:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The last time I remember having this "Tetris effect" feeling, was October 2021 when Metroid Dread released.
Played it in long sessions from its release day on a Thursday(?) to a Sunday night, and on each of those nights, my mind would pretend to navigate through imaginary 2D Metroidvania rooms
