Grammarly's presentation of something they call Expert Review, including my name (plus Stephen King's, plus Mary Norris's), though to be sure I've never been contacted by Grammarly, much less compensated.

The fact that some people are "well, actually"ing this is astonishing. "Write like Chekhov" can largely be a stylistic tic, for better or worse. "Write like David Abulafia" is a content claim, which the LLM cannot mimic, even poorly.

The model of unpaid academic labor required good jobs with ample unstructured time.

Also "pose a reflective question on risk management" is the most ridiculous framing of what Verena is doing!

I am pretty sure it is without his permission (Abulafia is dead, for example). It's horrifying.

In case the scam here isn't obvious - Grammarly is, without permission, creating little LLM agents based on the work of academics and then claiming this is the same as their "expert opinion" - using their names and reputations for free without consent.

I just came across this map illustrating how dramatic the weather has been this year. I knew it’s been unusually cold and snowy in the Northeast this winter, but I didn’t realize it was this extreme!
