20.10.2025 19:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am from Finland, though, and here the default is that no one talks to you. Even when you pass by someone in the woods, people usually don't even look at you, and if someone says "Hello" they get the evil eye.
So there is that.
You didn't read that Raptitude post, I guess. He gave some good reasons.
And how you gonna meet new people if you never talk to any?
Used to be difficult for me too. After working a couple decades as a bike mechanic, I had to learn the routines of talking to anyone.
You should also read this - written by an introvert - about the social importance of talking to people you don't know

What if we embraced our true potential? What if we trusted visionaries to guide us forward? Change will come when we choose leaders w/ compassion and foresight.

09.10.2025 10:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Throughout history, each iteration of fascism came with its own particularities. Political theorist R. Griffin posits that the one thing they have in common is palingenetic ultranationalism. (Picture : Mussolini giving a speech) Palingenetic ("born again in ancient greek) ultranationalism is a far right narrative that frames the nation as decadent, as having lost its way, as being betrayed by dark elites. To save it, it needs to be destroyed, then reborn. (Picture: Trump giving a speech in front of a MAGA flag) with that goal in mind, an authoritarian power with divisive rhetoric channelsbthe population's anger towards a scapegoat demonized outgroup: migrants, religion, sexual and gender minorities... (picture : three masked ICE agents are handling someone.) Fascism is like a chameleon : it constantly adapts to eras and cultures. It is vital to learn to identify it and call it out. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.
This is why we must build back union power.

Not cool.
In the winter she does it around 8 o clock, which is fine.

Good thing there are things like Bandcamp and Patreon. You follow labels and artists that you want to, and you pay them directly.
Also, Mixcloud and Soundcloud - follow other listeners, artists and labels.
Fuck Spotify. Will never touch that.

Finished this book last night, was surprised how much I liked it. I picked it up because it's one of my favorite sub genres: a small group of people trapped in a very cold place & there are spooky goings on.

27.03.2025 14:41 β π 77 π 14 π¬ 1 π 0OF THE EMPIRE We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.
