As they smugly took their final jello shots with so much blood on their hands, we shouted "War criminal!" "Free Palestine!" "This isn't a hacker conference - it's a military recruitment drive!" For daring to speak out, we were aggressively kicked out by Las Vegas Convention Center security guards - who put hands on us, calling us homophobic slurs. No goons or anyone from DEFCON offered any discussion or due process. Shameful how Fedcon treats real hackers and freedom of speech. Now I wish everyone would follow through; twitter's not worth staying for even for all the creature comfort on it. It's social media! You *should* be interacting with others with the same interests!

Its algo drives you to be incredibly passive and it really fucks with everyone.
That fact that bsky discover tab kinda sucks helps interacting with others. Plus, the platform helped me discover circles I wouldn't have found with twitter's insulated and viral algorithm.

That's the sort of dread I felt yesterday. I've blocked most if not all the engagement bait accounts of the platform, the remainder being friends or the more active extended group around them, not accounting for illustrators. Everyone is miserable and doesn't want to interact with the others.
