I think that knowing the top card of the deck (the first card that would be returned in the rewind) would give an unfair advantage to the player who would then choose what 2 to discard. 2/3

ANSWER: @dizzy95.bsky.social is right—Stitch’s is effect looks for the cost of the character, not the strength!
This was a GRE, which means we would rewind: 3 random cards back to the top of the deck, then proceed with draw 2, discard 2 for Tramp’s effect. HOWEVER… 1/3 🧵

The player says, "Exert Tramp to draw a card with Stitch's ability, since Tramp has 2 strength." They draw a card, and then say, "Now, I'll draw 2 and discard 2 with Tramp's ability". They draw 2, and I pause them here. 3/4

Player has Ursula - Deceiver and Stitch - Rock Star in play, and 5 ink. They play Tramp - Street Smart Dog (paying only 5 ink, since they have 2 characters in play). 2/4

I love the ICL players, casters, staff, and chat (who catch any error I miss, without fail!)—I love that we aim for perfection, while recognizing that mistakes happen; that’s why the Play Correction Guidelines exist. In the words of Anna, all we can do is “the next right thing”. 💜 4/4 🧵

The deck could not be checked or altered mid-game, and the player had been playing with the deck as-is for their entire matchup (on camera). So, we needed to alter the deck list instead of altering the deck—this meant Deck Registration Major, even though it was probably just one card different. 3/4

Phil has posted about today’s LCCC ruling, go check that out. For ICL which we judge at Competitive Level, the Deck Registration Error was discovered in the middle of the final game of the round. 2/4

In 2023, before Disney #Lorcana was even released, we planned a Disneyland trip for this past weekend. So lucky that our trip occurred over the release of Archazia's Island! 🦉❄️✨ What a magical weekend!

We treated it as if they were seen (Hidden Information Error). Shuffled those cards into the deck, then had the player finish resolving Doc. Accidents happen—quick and easy fix, and they were back to playing! 💖

Last night’s #Lorcana ICL match with @illumineercl.bsky.social had one pretty easy judge highlight — Player resolving Doc - Bold Knight. They drew one card, then accidentally knocked ~5 cards from their deck onto the floor. We can’t confirm if the cards were seen or not, since we’re on stream…1/2 🧵

Turns out they only had 3 cards in hand though! We rewound through 1 card draw (1 random hand card goes back to the top of the deck).

I’m learning from this and becoming a better judge—I’m definitely going to handle speed-games differently in the future, so I make sure these are as clean as the rest of the match.
