Hey thanks for checking in! This post inspired me to start working on these songs again. I've been mostly recording weird guitar demos on 4-track cassette and making Amiga music for the past few months lol.

But I put in some good work yesterday on LSDJ :)

Which is to say, today I am rocking out and not writing chiptunes XD

One thing that has surprised me so far is that despite the Longsword's insane Swiss army flexibility, I can't quite get it to sound as chimey and clear as the Halberd.

Halberd keeps clarity even cranked and playing neck pickups on my 70s Greco thinline copy, so 70s Maxon humbuckers haha.

The Longsword is my favorite pedal for distortion and I have been looking for something more midgain. I am really digging this pedal so far. It has an openness and clarity I can't coax out of the Longsword, which excels at crunch.

Jamming on some city pop-inspired #amiga sounds with a lil #chiptune thrown in and some 80s synthwave-type snare sounds. Sort of a hodge-podge lol.

I think the vibe is there at least.

I'm in the US so had to go ebay. Mine is a Euro model (has the pound sign instead of the $ lol) but it came with the US powersupply, which is the main thing.

r/amiga was very helpful with getting info for a setup. There are definitely several pieces of gear you need to get up and running.

Yeah, I have one of the beta units and made a bunch of music on it 2020-2022 or so. It's a cool device for sure.

For real! Like just the sound of it reading the floppy disk is nostalgic haha.

So it's a demake on more limited hardware. I'm liking this chippy Amiga version, but the original is still a nice tune I think.

After a week and a half of not having any idea what I'm doing, I finally have something going in ProTracker 2 for the Amiga that doesn't sound like hot garbage lol.

Still don't know what half of the commands do, but I'm digging the Amiga sound.
