Everything could be made smaller, more decentralized. Now we're back to making everything BIGGER, more resource consuming, more expensive, centralized and closed. That's how you can tell intelligence it's no longer at the helm.

I mean, for all its narrative licenses, you can still see the years when technology was pushed forward by ingenuity, and the hope of creating things that users actually WANTED.

What a wonderful movie is The Secret Agent. Please don't overlook the "hairy leg" bit as just some quirky South American magical realism bit. Dictatorships in SA used to come up with crazy stuff to co-opt the news cycle: in Chile they made up a whole case of apparitions of the Virgin Mary.

I've been watching this wonderful anime series from the late 80s called Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and couldn't help drawing fan art of it… Here's one of the mc, Yang Weng-Li, along his aide Frederica.

Data is correct, causal agency is (IMO) incorrect.

The vast majority of ppl who use AI to make images and video have never touched and would never touch Photoshop/AfterEffects/Illustrator/etc. The issue is Adobe trying to squeeze its users with subscriptions, and other customer-hostile behavior.

This concept that an idea is all that matters – that writing is secondary, is an afterthought, is best outsourced to a machine – I can't get my head around it.

I've redone the pose so many times it's practically a choreography.

Exploded is the right expression :) I'm testing a Patreon plugin for posts on the website, and I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I'll keep adjusting it a bit so it's not too disruptive in the future. Thanks for letting me know!
