We need cis people who haven’t got trans family to speak up.

I hate to say it, but I reckon there’s a credibility hierarchy, this weird thing, where the closer you are to the issue ie being trans or a parent like me, the less likely a cis MP will fully trust you. When it should be the opposite.

If a racist shop patron made this complaint because they were approached by someone of a different colour M&S would be absolutely and deservedly slammed across our society if they apologised for it.

Our media is absolutely dedicated to erasing trans people from our society, normalising hatred.

I am so sorry. My daughter also no longer attends school due to the schools failings. She avoided bullying from the students, but the school's inherently transphobic policies around toilets caused enough distress on their own.

Imagine being that trans girl, sat in a classroom while your teacher tells everyone that you are a biological male who cannot use the toilet because it is illegal & you make women uncomfortable. There is no way of teaching this that is not bullying, & many teachers will do this awfully.

So we're banned from sports because we have 'male' advantage, but are also banned from giving blood because when classed as 'biologically male', our levels are too low and we're rejected.

I hate everything about this. I cannot imagine my child being subjected to this. It is harmful and it would likely trigger a whole host of new insecurities! Also an adult asking a child about their privates is abusive - and it would be recognised as such in any other setting.

I wish more of us had that choice.

This is what I meant earlier when I talked about various bodies existing merely to give a veneer of legitmacy to each other.

Holding a scrutiny hearing for Stephenson might fool some people into thinking this is all "fair", but trans people and their allies can see exactly what is going on here.

Stephenson went to Terf conferences, signed Terf letters and donated to a Terf fundraiser.

She has admitted all of these things in this session.

Loads of people completed the consultation using @goodlawproject.bsky.social’s portal (which just answers the final question) so that makes sense.

The more I learn about how our country works, the more it seems these organisations primarily exist to legitimise each other rather than to provide any meaningful accountability.

They may do some good in certain areas, but as a whole they exist to reinforce the status quo.

A question of our time is ‘how do you fight evil?’ The Queer community is answering that through banning political parties from Pride, 3,000+ trans ppl mass lobbying the UK Parliament in person, & in this case the Dyke Project undermining a hateful fake feminist Astro-Turf group thru joy & ridicule.

Something I found lovely about yesterday was that allies really showed up. I was in the queue for parliament with a mother meeting her MP on behalf of her trans child & a cis man meeting his on behalf of his trans brother. A father of trans kids met my MP before me. People are fighting this with us.
