As a megadrive owner, I remember seeing this in a shop and thinking "so slow, small sprites..." then i got my snes with this and sf2, and man, this was a masterpiece and got better the more you progressed. Played it once again before the Mario movie release to show it to my son

Problem seems resolved so I'll share here the most important progress

Extracted arcade attract mode (bottom) motion data with motion tracking and reapplied them to megadrive version (top). Almost there!
