Good questions! It took me a few months to warm up to it. I missed the Mountain Expedition in August so my first party was the Fair in September. I do remember hanging out with certain friends but I didn’t get so involved in the community until 2013. That’s when my memories are the sharpest.

In NZ, racism is so subtle that I have to question whether something someone said was racist. A local friend tells me that’s how you know it was racism.

So, if you feel it was a micro aggression, then it likely was. I see it as such.

It’s sad how art is often seen as a means to an end. This video is a good reminder of the intrinsic value of art. My relative is a music producer, and some of his most successful songs are the stuff he does out of pure joy without worrying about what people think! 😆

Today, I clicked well with a new hiking buddy. That makes so much sense because I have autism, and later, I learned they have AuDHD. Imagine the joy we had finding out about each other's neurodivergence in a neurotypical world!
