Never be a compelling reason for change as we have already seen. Costs are all that matter when it comes to energy. Personal opinion is to focus all our efforts on making alternate options the cheapest and obvious choice. There two biggest areas to focus there are on battery technology and nuclear.

26.10.2025 12:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Sufficient energy to many use cases. Nuclear has none of the limitations and a very good cost profile for fixed. For portable hydrogen or batteries.

Ultimately fossil fuels should be rare one way or another. I own two electric vehicles myself and a roof covered in solar.

Climate change will

Costs.

To be fair that is not that many use cases. Especially in developed nations. It involves mainly rationally retiring the current investments as the costs are mainly sunk.

I think for fixed power the clear winner is nuclear, not solar. Solar can be supplementary, but cannot provide

Is not available or you cannot afford the current charge time, then liquid fossil fuels make sense. If you are living near available coal and want to burn it for heat that makes sense as it is free. We should burn whatever is already extracted or can be inexpensively extracted at lower than average

26.10.2025 12:56 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Not many places any more, but a few. If you have a device like a car or a power plant that is still operational than it should be maintained until it’s cost to maintain is no longer worth it. If you need portable energy like a liquid fuel in scenarios where access to charging infrastructure

This sentence is not useful. It already powers the world. It has its use cases. But there are many sources of energy and we should apply the right one to the use case.

What the heck is this opinion on podcasts. They are an old format going back to the mid 90s and predate the iPod. Also they existed before that. Cassette tape interviews were distributed by mail. Sometimes free with ads. And, radio interviews go back to the 1920s.

Of course if you have this particular connection you will not view it as a problem or abnormal. Understandable.

25.10.2025 00:39 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I guess the question is why do some people have wired pleasure in their brain to things that control or hurt them. I am not being critical. It is obviously a misconnection that is relatively common. If we can learn the source perhaps we can learn how to prevent it.
