Here’s Time Magazine starting the air conditioning wars early (motherfuckers, it’s still winter, you cannot kick off that specious argument until June), so to repeat as we do every year:
Heat kills.
AC is 3-5x more efficient than heat.
AC works GREAT on solar power.
It’s not driving climate change.
But if you look up “pronk” does it say “another term for “stot”?

James Talarico: I frankly am tired of the "thoughts and prayers" rhetoric.
I believe in the power of prayer. But there is something profoundly cynical about asking God to solve a problem that we're not willing to solve ourselves.
The time for thoughts and prayers is over. It's time for us to act.
Lol.
My favorite part of the "prediction markets" is that we've had a growing number of people get aggressive with our forecasts being slightly off, or calling us to try and influence a temp reading, and it is usually obvious they are betting on some bullshit on these sites.
A reminder that white nationalism isn't just abhorrent, it's stupid.

One of the most tangibly lifesaving efforts of @standupforscience.bsky.social to date was to send an on-the-ground investigator to Guinea Bissau to understand the context of the unethical &CDC funded Hep B infant vaccines study.
We presented to a packed room of horrified House and Senate folks.
