Congratulations to our friend and colleague Omar Yaghi for winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Leading up to this extraordinary recognition was boatloads of hard work, dedication, and creativity. His unwavering zeal for discovery and exploration are the very attributes that define UC Berkeley.

Congratulations to John Clarke for winning the Nobel Prize in Physics. And congratulations to Michel Devoret and John Martinis, both of whom are now at UC Santa Barbara. This is a great day for America’s top public university, and leading public university system.
