A photo collage from The Storygraph, showing the covers of the 5 books I read in May.
My May reading stats from The Storygraph, showing that I read 5 books, 1283 pages, listened for 19.03 hours, and gave an average rating of 4.1. So at least the 5 books were pretty good!
As further evidence of my mental state, I only realized now (the day after this post) that I didn't even attach the graphics from @thestorygraph.com

Tomorrow, a certain online mega-retailer launches a book sale, just days before Indie Bookstore Day on 4/26. This is no coincidence; Bookstore Day is one of the largest revenue drivers for indies.
Indies need our support to thrive & build community spaces for all...mega-retailers do not.
No surprise to see my incumbent (term limits please!) MP Cheryl Gallant on this list.

I saw my first returnee of the year today! How do I know I've fed this one before? Newbies normally take a day or two to approach, and ALWAYS bite a finger before realizing the nuts are the food π #chipmunks #ChipmunkWhisperer

A hand-knit baby blanket lies on a medium-toned wood floor. It is a square blanket with a pattern made of eyelet-textured rounds. The centre square (quite large) is white, surrounded by a wide medium-grey section and then a border of a dusty/blush pink. Yarn is Stylecraft Special DK. Pattern was a free pattern put out by Eweknit. I don't remember what it was called, but I 100% don't recommend it.
The theme for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits is baby items. One of my go-to items to knit for babies is a blanket. I've knit the Chevron Baby Blanket from Espace Tricot 3 times! It works up really well in Caron Cakes, if your recipient is okay with acrylic yarns. #KnitSky #BabyKnits

29.03.2025 21:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The cover of The Comeback, by Lily Chu. A "comic-style" drawing of a woman in a dark grey, ribbed, high neck sweater with a large black sun hat with a white band around the brim edge. She has long brown hair and is wearing a slight smile as she pulls down her white rimmed sunglasses to reveal her eyes. She is wearing a watch on that arm, turned around so the face is on her wrist. The watch has a pink strap and a rectangular face with diamonds around it.
Lily Chu has gained my undying respect and gratitude by correctly using the phrase, "on a deserted island." I suppose "desert island" is considered common usage by now, but I'll never stop railing against its use. In any case, read The Comeback; it's a good one.
