Playrobot blinked and smiled idly as he talked. “Sure.” Tristan explained all the things she could do - play games, talk, describe the time and weather, and even do basic math. She had a voice recognition thing that could tell who was speaking to her if she spent enough time talking to a person. Some of it he didn’t really understand, but he was happy to let the kid ramble. As Tristan spoke, she stared at him and leaned forward, like she was interested in what he was saying. “...and apparently, they spent five months building her. Can you believe it? Five whole months, just for a Christmas present! I could tell they were doing something, ‘cus they were being all funny about working on something, and they kept trying to tell me it was just something boring that I wouldn’t be interested in, but it was driving me crazy not knowing what it was! Years ago Dave and Muko explained to Bambi the situation with Tristan’s biological family in great detail. That was the first, and one of the few, times he had seen Dave angry enough to tremble. The information was shocking. Abandonment and neglect, from what they could tell. They had found the poor child wandering the street alone at night in dirty clothes, hungry, thirsty, and very quiet. He didn’t cry once. He was perfectly fine with being taken into the arms of strangers. When they tried to locate his parents, nothing came up.
