Gil: started as a joke character, still kind of is. Rather then having an angel and devil on his shoulders he has two devils that don’t agree. Was meant to be a clueless moron who I simply enjoyed drawing. Now I’m not sure what he is or how to use him in the story. I’ll probably slap him with the other shapeshifters. He was a character semi shapeshifted into an animal wears a mask because his face didn’t end up a good mix.

Seeing the art in motion definitely makes me feel like I had some pretty solid designs. I’ve been procrastinating hard for 10 years. I should just start making my book idea already.

Would using AI to animate my old art as reference material be bad? I’m stoked to see the characters in motion and it makes me want to stick with the designs I’ve already made. Not ment to be final product.

It will add depth to the characters. Helps to make them less flat looking. Also play either thinking how the characters forms look at different angles. It will help when drawing them & adding shading/ how cloths move & wrinkle. This will also help with depth.

One of my cousins asked me to design a sword that could turn into a pickaxe. He showed me a spasmodic sword shape and asked me to go from there.

This is a drawing I did years ago. For this design i added tome extra pattern around his upper body, mostly testing the idea. I think it made the design stand out a bit more as a result. This Character is a partial clone of another guy. Half shapeshifter into some type of animal. Wears a mask due to his face not being a good blend of human/ animal. Meant to be a more quirky character. Originally design him with a few other characters to be part of a band.

@tasvr.bsky.social one thing I liked doing with character sketches was to add thicker outlines or extra bits around the character. Always mad designs pop a little more on a blank sheet of paper. You should play with the idea. Also try adding shadows under characters for full body sketches.

You should fully unplug for like 2 full weeks. No computer, tv, phone, nothing. You will be shocked what kinds of stuff you can do without any distractions.

You should do a few pages of practice heads at different angles. The character looks stretchy. Having some quick attempts to practice with might help. Sometimes I do that when drawing something new.

I offered to do commissions years ago. Why does it seem most common requests tend to be very NSFW? This one looks good.

This looks a bit creepy. Love the idea however references are usually very helpful. You should definitely use references untill you have figured out how hands work. That’s what I do.

Still need the barbarians guide and a couple of others.

About. Again it can, depends on the style. I’d say try some stuff out. Practice your hands. Also poses that put the hands more front & center. If you only draw characters in the same 5 poses you’ll master those poses and no other. You should try others. Like sitting in a chair. Harder than it seems.

Are you going for better proportions or more of a stylized art? I think the hands should be almost twice as big. Otherwise love the design.

Holy cow how time flies.
My new job has me working 12-13 hour shifts & working about 4-5 shifts a week. when I’m off work I’m usually pretty wiped. Who knew making paper was so hard. Though all this overtime has my weekly pay doubled from my last job. Soon I’ll have new art supplies.

Keep up the good work. Maybe test out some other styles. Do some practice pages of eyes. Draw more close ups & your characters facing other angles.

At war with my cat.
He has become my greatest barrier to drawing literally anything & he’s getting bolder. Now if I leave any drawing supplies out he’s going to knock everything down. Then when I go to draw he hopes up while I’m in the middle of drawing smudging everything.

Also you should definitely practice body proportions. The arms look a bit funny.
