To be clear haha I'm not changing jobs or leaving 😅 But this is something I've always wished I could be invited to do, and though the circumstances are not as ideal as I imagined, this is still what I had always longed for, and prayed for.

Accepted an invitation to a career-related opportunity, though I still don't know if things will work out, or how I'll be able to get some financial assistance for this. The equivalent of just closing my eyes and taking a leap of faith.

Ahaha I thought it was just me who actually liked Alexander Hamilton better when played by someone else, good to know 😅 Somehow I could sympathize with and even forgive the character more (after he cheated) in the Solaire version.

This is prompted by another long but insightful essay on the issue, which another writer responded to by attacking the essay as full of fallacies. Lol, predictable. I have long learned that no matter how eloquent you are about your views, some people will never, ever listen.

And actually, it's not even about their actual views on the issue, or what the side they pick is fighting for, per se. Some people pick a side based on who is on the other side, and how they can use their so-called advocacy to attack those people in the guise of fighting for justice.

The thing about the current local literary discourse (as with the case with all other issues), is that it's not really a conversation. It's just people speaking over each other, or writing long essays about their views. And no one listens to anyone with an opinion that does not match theirs.

Started watching "Romantics Anonymous" and this is making me crave chocolates so bad huhu. And omg first few minutes I already love Sosuke (played by Oguri Shun) because of this: "I refused to use cacao that was not sourced fairly or legitimately." OH yes😭

And looking at the AI-generated team's output, none of them felt...truly them? It was just the same art I've seen generated before. There were elements that were supposed to describe them, but it still did not feel unique. It was, in every sense of the word, soulless.

The prompt was simple: "Draw or create something that describes you." It was interesting, actually, how differently everyone interpreted the prompt. There were those who made word clouds, others drew simple emojis to describe their interests, and some made simple origami.

Our group drew on paper with pencils and crayons, the traditional way. I know my drawing was pretty bad ahaha (it was pretty much like a kid's drawing, lol) and not all the students were good at art too, but at least we all sat down and thought about how to interpret the prompt, ON OUR OWN.

Aww thank you! I just have a lot of ~feelings at the moment ahaha, but let me see if I can actually sit down and write a proper paper about it. It's really getting out of hand, huhu.

On the AI thing again, quite disappointed that one of my co-faculty friends actually asked her students to use AI in the drawing activity for our mentoring session today😣This...is not cool huhu 😭

A bit ironic that a former resident who was toxic to you when you were junior interns is now talking about how toxic environments and bullying in the workplace can prevent collaboration and lead to harm to colleagues and ultimately to patients. Yes, we know. 😅

I have SO MANY THOUGHTS as I sit in this workshop, but I unfortunately am seemingly the lone dissenting voice among my colleagues. And I am not the best at explaining why something makes me deeply uncomfortable. It would be nice if someone else also shares these feelings. 😔

As for "We don't see a lot of actual patients, how will we learn, so we need AI to simulate patients" -- WHY are they not seeing patients? Maybe there are structural problems that need to be addressed first, that have to do with equal access to health care and the like.

And on the argument that it saves time by performing tedious tasks, maybe in the first place these tasks should not have been formulated in the first place? Maybe the problem is efficiency and unequal task delegation in the faculty, and that has to be addressed.

It does not take a lot to read more on it, especially on the damage it does to the environment and communities, as well as artists and other creatives, and even critical thinking of people in general.

Unfortunately an unpopular opinion, but educators who push for the use of generative AI in the curriculum do not truly understand what it does.

Another day of wondering when our romance and YA books will ever be recognized by other people as also socially relevant (and recommended to other doctors and allied health professionals as depicting their issues and lives accurately)😅

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them. Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!” Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.” Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face. Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

It's so nice when people discover your old works, and actually seem to like them, huhu. It's been so long since I wrote that short story, and it feels great to have new readers discovering it again.

Why is watching horror one of my coping mechanisms ahaha 😅 Looks like I'm sleeping with the night light on again later. (It's so good so far though!)

I should not be watching Light Shop (2024 Korean series) at night because some parts can be creepy, but I can't stop watching. It's intriguing enough to keep me hooked, but at what cost ahaha 🥲

"This was all my fault. I'm sorry." Validating her worries AND apologizing? 😭 I could relate to Elianna in this arc (also when she blamed herself for her anxiety) that this hit me so hard. I love this series so much 😭
