I'm looking at airbnb options for my upcoming travel for a conference, and I found one that had "two friendly indoor cats to keep you company" and I think by that alone I am sold haha 🐱

Was vaguely interested in an upcoming book, but it was labeled as "literary horror" and I never could understand why people don't just label all books like this as simply "horror". Genre fiction is literature 🥲

I like the world building in the novel by the way, and find the mechanics of the magic tools in their world fascinating. The romance seems to be a verrrryyyyy slow burn, but I do like the development of it so far.

I got to reading "Dahlia in Bloom" while waiting for my grandmother to be discharged from the hospital, and I can't stop smiling from kilig now ahaha 😂 The first time I felt something other than exhaustion and sadness this past week. Thankful for small joys. ❤️

I think I'm no longer happy in a particular place I'm working in (since doctors here have multiple workplaces), and I can only try to escape sometimes, but the problems are so pervasive since they are ultimately systemic in nature. I don't know where else I can go, though. 😔

The thing with going on vacation is that while it does rejuvenate me for a while, when I go back I just return to the same problems, and somehow they are made even worse in my absence.

So I apparently can still make new friends as an adult ahaha 😅 Grateful for this trip!

Also another reason why I'm not too fond of solo travelling is that I would like to try a lot of the local food, but I can't finish everything all on my own 🥲 Especially since servings are for more than one person, ehe.

What is irony: booking a hotel for the rooftop bar...and then it rains really hard while you are up there. 🥲

Have you ever actually considered that maybe, just maybe, readers say they did not like your book because they simply just did not like it? And it's not bullying or an attack against you? 😅

Why is writing book back cover blurbs so hard 😫 (But I'm finally done with it yay!)

I've been making videos recommending 10 romanceclass (romance in English by Filipino authors) books at a time, for February, as one does.

This is Part 1.

That said, looking for suggestions for places to see in Denver, Colorado! (Also places to stay in that would not be super expensive 😅)

(Note: I am not a super outdoorsy person ahaha, so maybe not long hikes or the like.)

In general, too, I like sharing experiences with other people. I tend to have so many thoughts, and especially more so when I'm traveling, that it's always better for me when there's someone to talk to, someone I'm already comfortable with (and not a stranger I met on the trip).

This is why solo travel has never been something "freeing" for me, because I have tried it too (forced by necessity), and it is never as enjoyable an experience for me as it is for some people.

That anxiety gets overwhelming sometimes, that I tend to put off things I need to do in order to actually get to those places (like visa applications, etc). It's more manageable when I do these things with someone else.

I realized that one of the reasons why I don't like traveling alone is that I often like to bounce ideas off other people, to dispel some of the anxiety I feel when going to a new place.

Update on the cute lola pathologist who bought Ghost of a Feeling: while we were eating lunch the other day, she talked about my book again and how she enjoyed it. And it was heartwarming how she mentioned details from the book, so I know she really did read it huhu.

Might as well be productive and deal with things by writing fiction 😅

So I opened the Romance Class textbook again and maybe starting with Assignment 1. 👀 It's been a while 😅

Also I REALLY should start compiling my spec fic short stories, while I can still find the files (or maybe I've already lost some of them huehue) 🥲
