I’m late posting this here. I still have a bunch of upcoming markets though. These are all in Portland Oregon. I’ll have handcrafted soap, skincare, candles, and cement decor.

Tomorrow is the Mississippi Street Fair in Portland, OR! I’ll be located on the east side of Mississippi, 7 booths north of Mason. Vendors will be selling from 10am-8pm! It’s a big one, there will be food and entertainment too!

I’m so sorry! It’s probably hard enough to keep them out of houses, much less chicken coops!

She is black through and through! She goes broody every two months which is kinda hard. She is already small so I have to make sure she eats. Overall not a beginner chicken breed! We love her so much though!

They are originally from Indonesia. They are smaller than the standard chicken. They don’t think they are chickens 🤣. They are curious and brave which means they get in trouble a lot and need extra protection. Esme is top chicken in our flock, even though she is the smallest. She is tough.

Yes! That’s my Ayam Cemani chicken. Her name is Esmeralda, we call her Esme.

Zinnia is a black Australorp chicken on my lap, enjoying some sunshine in the cold winter weather.

I love my chickens and I am so lucky to have them, but I am serious when I say they are a ton of work and I do not recommend anyone get them! 🧵4 of 4

We’ve used bird netting in the past but the holes were just the right size for a baby crow to get tangled. I saw it as it happened and was able to quickly rescue them. So now I need to make the holes big enough that no birds will get caught but small enough that a hawk can’t fly through. 🧵 3 of 4

She either borrowed completely under a lavender bush or up in the hedge. I keep adding more hawk prevention and deterrents every day. Today I ordered 1000 feet of parachord to make a huge spider web like net and to add even more deterrents. Our yard is going to be covered in chords soon. 🧵 2 of 4

We have a hawk terrorizing our chickens every day for a week. It was really scary yesterday morning because Ginger was missing for a long time after the hawk tried to get them. We searched the yard 6 times over and thought she was gone. She finally came out of hiding looking pretty shook up. 🧵1 of 3

Candle scents are blends of my own. Abundance is oakmoss, tobacco, amber, and vanilla. Benevolence is mostly vetiver and frankincense, with subtle secrets. Prosperity is my take on cashmere. Midwinter is mostly mistletoe and frankincense. Yuletide is a blend of fruits and spices of the season.
