That’s also how Le Guin makes me feel, so I’m so happy that Rakesfall won the Le Guin award and feel it is well deserved!!!!

What I love about Vajra Chandrasekera’s work is how genuinely fresh it feels in a genre that can often feel like it’s repeating the same 5 ideas over and over— there’s something so different and innovative about his work that really excites me and makes me proud of SFF as a genre and what it can do

I also really loved Archangels of Funk by Andrea Hairston and North Continent Ribbon by Ursula Whitcher!!

IM SO HAPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY my favorite book out of the nominees and definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year 🎉

Altho it is funny that they’re basically unreadable bc the spines are completely detached like the book would basically get deboned if you actually tried to read it. I might take it to work and glue it myself 😭😭😭😭😭

Every single shot me and aoife were pointing out some insane costuming/set design choice, like Murderbots weird swirl helmet/the apples in the dome habitat/Ratthi's giant necklace that looks like legos/everyone wearing some form of hoodie at all times

Really enjoying the murderbot show actually! Skarsgard nails it and looks like a wet puppy killing machine in every scene. But moreso I just enjoy that the show has its own visual language and aesthetic-- it doesnt just look like a car commercial like so many shows nowadays do

I love those articles that are fearmongering about college students not reading or writing anymore and then you look at the people they interviewed and its like 7 business majors
