A patch of stars in various colours, ranging from white to bright blue and deep orange

When Galileo made his telescope, the first thing he pointed it at was a faint patch of light which clearly wasn't a planet or a star.

It turned out to be the Beehive Star Cluster. A group of a 1000 stars gravitationally bound together, roughly 550 lightyears from Earth.

Yeah, in hindsight we should have kept that stuff we did in the 90s under wraps.

A red nebula with a bright star cluster in the centre and a small dark “pillar of creation” at the bottom.

The Christmas Tree Cluster and the Cone Nebula are a bit too small for my scope’s FoV. But here’s my best attempt.

Why on earth would anyone voluntarily remain on that loony asylum after retiring?

If only a certain dozen old men would disappear from this planet, the lives of billions would immediately improve greatly.

Congratulations America on starting yet another world-destabilising war for no reason other than keeping your president out of jail. Pathetic banana republic.

A swirling vortex of multicoloured nebulae with stars dotted around them

If you know where to look, you can see the M42 Great Orion Nebula with the naked eye. It will look like a tiny smudgy star in the middle of Orion's sword.

I love the dramatic layered strands of bright and dark nebula.

Breaking: scientists have found the world’s oldest buttcrack to date. 290 million years old!

It’s certainly not the world’s biggest asshole however.

We’ve reached the enshittification stage where all companies have started speedrunning profit maximisation to see how far the madness can be pushed.

A tech post that’s not about AI No mention of agents? In this economy?

I’m tired of the AI hypemongering, so I wrote about non-AI technologies that actually push society forward instead.

Everything about this timeline is stupid. Are there literally no longer any people with common sense at the wheel anywhere anymore?

Can we just take a moment to celebrate that Sigourney Weaver is now officially in the Star Wars universe? Long overdue!

50k$ is roughly €45k which gets you a basic Volkswagen Golf with virtually no optional extras.

That is actually pretty cheap here in the Netherlands.

I’ve heard several people in tech around me say the same thing: I’m dreaming of getting a patch of land and grow my own food.

So many tech people are getting fatigued with tech right now. It’s exhausting.

Red nebulae around bright blue supergiant star, with the contours of a dark nebula in the shape of a horsehead cutting into it

Orion always brings out the best galactic spectacles. Hello Alnitak, my bright blue friend. Good to see you and your horse-headed companion again.

GenAI is literally not bringing us one single good thing. Yet it seems only a handful of people seem to notice all the bad stuff or care enough to express concern. It’s baffling.

Analysis: EVs just outsold petrol cars in EU for first time ever - Carbon Brief Sales of battery electric vehicles (EVs) overtook petrol cars in the EU for the first time in December 2025.

What? Inside Europe they're also gaining ground fast. It's only the US that is falling behind.

Sounds like you weren’t around on the internet in the late 90s. It was literally the place where people went to escape the system.

Yes Photoshop 2.5.1 was the first design application I used professionally. What’s a “layer”?
