Yep did you see the Guardian article about talking to strangers is good for mental health....its the benefits of spontaneity. We had a great chat with a young couple from Southampton yesterday afternoon at a craft beer bar called Lost in Leith.

So after a couple of weeks on the Central Coast Ca I am a bit disappointed in some of the Breweries....hence lack of posting BUT this Hoppy Poppy IPA from #FigueroaMountain in #Buellton is a perfectly balanced West Coast IPA. Its on the luggage shortlist! Great taproom in Buellton as well!

I don't have access to the full text paper but I would expect that a normal FBC test won't pick this up.

In my grumpy rant against these fruit smoothie "beers" I asked myself why this? Well it's got a sweet fruit aroma with a lovely balance of sweet, tart & sour with a beery finish. Very lambic!

For me the exception to these bizarre fruit concoctions is a Ukrainian Tomato Gose - I had one at the Bruges beer festival called Traumato and it was delicious but tho tomatoey it still retained some beeriness!

Thing is that it's not horrible ...it's just so far from a beer...I mean it was lumpy!🤣

Agreed! I am a keen home brewer and I do like using fruit as an adjunct. But for a beer I aim for a dry tart influence with fruit aroma. Not a sweet fruit smoothie.

I was grumpy yesterday but my view still stands. If you were ordering this in a juice/smoothie bar in California for breakfast then it would be interesting. If you actually want a decent Gose then it's awful. Every component is overdone and it's just no longer a beer.
