Hey World of Darkness players. Is it just me, or does Jujutsu Kaisen feel a bit like a Mage: The Ascension game?

What do you think everyone's paradox is after season 2 and how soon until the reality police come for all of them?

Checked and they also removed the Vinland Saga and NGNL AI dubs. Looks like they walked back the program and not just the dub of Banana Fish. This is good. It won't be enough until they also remove the other language AI dubs and never try this shit again, though. Keep telling them what you think.

Not to mention, I feel that it should be recognized more as a game by a team that has openly condemned generative AI and has not used any form of it in the game's development.

Again, yeah it's a joke awards show and shouldn't be taken seriously, but industry people and consumers alike use it as a metric for purchases and investment so it does affect the devs. They seem to be doing fine thanks to streamers, but I just wish my favorite game this year got more spotlight.

BUT then they changed the cut off to November 21st, which then make Dispatch perfectly viable, but they did this AFTER the nominations were submitted. So if this cutoff date stands, it's not eligible for next year - effectively making it ineligible for BOTH years.

To explain, apparently the original deadline for nominations was November 4th. At that point, only eps 1-4 of Dispatch were out so most jury members didn't feel right nominating a game they hadn't finished (understandably so). So they didn't nominate it for any major categories. -->

I really hope Dispatch gets recognition at the real video game awards shows. It's so dumb how it's technically not eligible for this or next year's Game Awards. I know the show is kind of a joke and it's mainly there for trailers, but recognition is recognition and Dispatch is my game of the year.

That's part of why I love One Piece, Final Fantasy XIV, and God of War Ragnarok so much. They put their characters and world through some of the most harrowing things you can experience, but it's all for the pursuit of joy and peace and the narratives have so much heart.

Which is fine, and if you like that then great, but I feel there needs to be levity for a story or world to grab me. I don't want to be emotionally exhausted by a story (in a bad way). I think that's why I never really got into the soulsbourne games. The atmosphere is so constantly oppressive.

Watching a Soulframe stream (been anticipating the game for a while) and they hit a moment in the story that made me realize something I've been missing. Fantasy with a sense of whimsy and joy to counterbalance the tragedy. Fantasy is so bogged down by the need to be dark and grim these days.

Watched the new Defunctland and it unlocked a memory from when I was 12 years old. My family went to Disney and I participated in Turtle Talk with Crush. I talked to crush as a kid and it blew my tiny mind! Now that I know it's still being run at the parks, I have a new bucket list VO item.

A friend of mine has been a recruiter/HR specialist for years and she's been having trouble finding a job after lay off the last two years because most companies have transitioned to fully automated recruiting processes run by AI. If the bubble doesn't burst soon it will come for everyone.

My grandma (last name Mahon) would teach me Gaelic phrases as a kid. I don't remember any (other than tiocfaidh ár lá, but that's a more recent one I learned for... reasons), but it's cool to see these languages being recognized officially!

That's seriously what it sounds like? There's no way an actor, director, artist, or anyone who interacts with humans regularly had any part in this decision.

The ONLY way to watch the dub of Shin Ultraman is with the physical release. For 12 bucks (or possibly free), I'd say that's a good deal.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

I just feel like martyr mentality and praising sacrifice of the body for the art can get into really unsafe territory and maybe we shouldn't do it so much. I care about my fellow actors and don't want them hurting themselves. Anyway, rant over.

So not only is it a burden on production and waste of their time, it's also irresponsible on your part. Sure, we schedule screamy sessions on Friday so you can recover, but there's a difference between resting over the weekend and being on vocal rest for a month.

It is a hazard of the job for sure, but I don't think we should lean in to praising people for it. Hurting yourself in session may lead to production having to find a stand in while you recover (if it's a simuldub or other tight production) and doing it a lot can permanently injure your voice.

I know this isn't the point of the post, but lemme soapbox for a second. It's impressive to see the dedication and all, but I'd much rather cast someone who can deliver an equally compelling and energetic performance without passing out or hurting themself.

2022 was one of the luckiest years of my life and I was 265 that year so I don't put a lot of stock in this. I'm 258 on this, though, so if it is real then it had better be a good year.

I think the cool thing about records and how they're pressed is that every vinyl record winds up being unique. Even if they don't add vinyl specks or scraps or extra colors, the grain and warping in the main vinyl donut is unique each time. It's rare to see in mass produced things.
