"Chain of Command, Part II" is still a tough watch at times, more than thirty years later. However, it's one of the strongest episodes produced by the franchise up to that point.

Thanks to @madonnaots.com for hosting the #TNGSunNight crew tonight. Next week will be much lighter fare.

The audience knew that Picard was about to say he had seen five lights, which makes it more heartbreaking. #TNGSunNight

Picard's appearance conveys what he's had to endure before he was released. Patrick Stewart's performance is outstanding. #TNGSunNight

In this moment, we can see why Jellico earned the rank of captain. But one has to wonder what his command of the Cairo could have been like. #TNGSunNight

Did any of Riker's words sink in with Jellico, especially before he became an admiral? #TNGSunNight

It pains Jellico to go back to Riker, but seeing him eat his words for something he needs is delicious. #TNGSunNight

Picard throws Madred off stride, just for a moment. It's rewarding. #TNGSunNight

Crusher manages to throw a little shade on Jellico, with an angry glance as icing on the cake. #TNGSunNight

Madred's cruelty is on full display as he tricks Picard into staying in his chamber. #TNGSunNight

Picard may have remembered Ro Laren's story during this scene with Madred. #TNGSunNight

Both Riker and Jellico were right in their conversation, but Jellico outranked Riker with his decision regarding a rescue. #TNGSunNight

Few episodes of a 1990s television series went this far in a frank portrayal of torture techniques. #TNGSunNight

Picard feels as if he is Madred's equal at this point in the episode, but that will quickly diminish as the episode continues. #TNGSunNight
