But full disclosure when I first read your post I thought it was going to say end of SUMMER not end of WEEK. LOL it was gonna be an ambitious plan either way.
As if we need more reasons to admire Mirya's take on academic life...this newsletter is π₯
My (reinforcing) take: nobody normal doesn't have self-doubt.
I just really wish a lot of people "leveraging" genAI for tasks would take 30 seconds to ask whether the thing they are making actually needs to exist.
Are you just making the equivalent of junk mail and distributing it to people without their consent, wasting resources in the process?
Shitβs gettin real so I have my βthinking licoriceβ at the ready. There ainβt no writers block happening here.

12.07.2025 17:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Am prepping for a 2 week writing blitz. Like she READ MY MIND, @mirya.bsky.social wrote a newsletter just for me!
I am:
β
blocking out my daily plan
β
planning my meals so I donβt need to think about it
β
leaving room for movement each day
β
devising a small set of awards for when I hit my goals
Or, Iβm so sorry for your loss!

This is a watershed moment.
Everyone who benefits from higher education should be deeply concerned.
Ryan was a moderate who presided over one of the more conservative institutions of higher education.
He followed the law when it comes to DEI. But that wasn't enough. Trump demands absolute fealty.
Lit reviews convince the reader that your work matters by showing what it does and where it fits.
An engaged, earnest reader will approach your paper with βthere are 8 million papers on X, whatβs new here?β Your lit review better answer that question.
Sam: Are you doomscrolling again? Golum: Doomscrolling? Doomscrolling? Just because we has our phone out⦠you accuse us of doomscrolling Sam: Fine. What are you scrolling then? Golum: Doooooooom

It is a tool designed to render the populace helpless, to make people doubt their innate intelligence, and to foster overreliance on technology.

All of it reinforces for me what I already believe: we need to use our brains more, not less. If that's the only lesson I impart to my students in the next few years, I will call it a major success.

In @jmfncfr.bsky.social, we find mothers manage 71% of family tasksβrising to 79% for daily routines. A powerful but often invisible form of inequality.

I also wonder (e.g. if it were me LOL) if I had just lost the party leadership and then was staring down the barrel at an entire summer of legal proceedings, would I want to "take one for the team" and represent the party in court?
Personally my answer is no.
