22.03.2025 01:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0β Rolled back existing laws that keep utilities, particularly PSE, on the path to providing clean energy
β Limited towns, cities, and counties from making decisions that work best for their communities.
This confusing, misleading, pro-fossil fuel initiative would have:
β Made energy bills more expensive and raise costs for families and individuals living on low-incomes. It would prevent us from making our buildings more efficient.
β Reduced access to money-saving appliances and customer rebates
Remember this WA ballot initiative that narrowly passed in November, I-2066? In some much-needed good news, a successful legal challenge means it may not go into effect.
22.03.2025 01:42 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You are far from alone. Together, we are an unignorable force that has the power to demand (and to be) the change we need.

With all the attacks on science, proven solutions to climate change, and agencies like NOAA, it's important to remember that 66% of Americans support a complete transition to clean energy by 2050 (and 72% know climate change is real).

RE Sources led the charge to enact Whatcom Co.βs first-of-its-kind protections in 2021: local land-use code changes that put conditions on refinery mods. and permanently prohibit new fossil fuel refineries, transshipment facilities, coal plants, piers, and wharfs in the Cherry Point industrial zone.
06.03.2025 21:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Whichever way the winds blow for multinational corporations, rest assured there will be no polluting fossil fuel expansions around here. We expect BP Cherry Point Refinery to continue on the path of investing in lowering emissions and making cleaner products, following state and local laws.
06.03.2025 21:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you to the 70+ community members who turned out for our tour of this #Bellingham waterfront cleanup site that's being restored for future use! The public comment period on the Harris Shipyard legal agreement is open until March 12.
27.02.2025 19:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good news for WA Stateβs vital older forests.
This means some of our hardest-to-replace forests aren't at immediate risk, & gives us time to build out policies & solutions that maintain all the lifesaving benefits forests offer us all - including sustainable local timber economies. #wa #wastate #pnw
There are two public meetings on Dec. 18th and 20th, which both require folks to submit comments ahead of time. Check out the article for how to give input and learn more about these energy storage proposals. (via @cascadiadaily.com )
