β¦ considering i have to walk home, iβm really glad i found a bag that fits just right!
Some people thought my idea of using industrial pallet rack an for a bedframe was crazy...

This adds the risk of just a 300% increase in either direction because space!!!
I'm... unsure if that would work.
Sleep may instantly happen.
Yeah, that's the thing that never seems to work for me, could be worth double-checking that it did that part correctly.
About 95% of the time that's what went on, and i had to either manually create the user, manually set the password, and/or manually restart SMBD for things to work.
The number of "Why did i even think that, this is dangerous/wrong/unwanted/etc" thought that happen per second sometimes makes me worried about what would happen if a mind reader was around...
Hopefully they can both handle the stream of garbage, and also understand 98% of it is discarded.
You created the user account on the system, but did you create the user account in SMB, assign it a password, and map it to the system account with the same name?

I've officially done the dumb thing where i've used my Quest 3 on top of my Galaxy XR in passthrough mode.
I'm slightly annoyed that it worked decently.
Old ceiling light, two bulbs with a square glass shade, very dim.
New ceiling light, open mesh with 6 bulbs, very bright, and has an enclosed fan in the center.
Room lighting upgrade!
It's Amazon-grade blah, but it's still better than that 20+ years old fixture with two bulbs.
VR might complain less about low light in parts of the room!
Flush mount, 6 bulbs, plus an enclosed ceiling fan in the middle, it works great for a low ceiling basement!
It's getting absurd with attendance caps and limited hotel rooms, when all of those just vanish instantly.
I can't plan more than a few week ahead, months if i'm lucky, with this chaotic disaster of a job, so that makes conventions really complex...
Might just "ghost" more often.
I need to stop trying to solve problems that aren't mine to solve.
I need to especially avoid spending money on problems that should have a R&D budget attached.
It's hard to do.
I need different distractions.
Interesting!
... would be more interesting if i still knew anyone running an XMPP server.

Also, i thought there was something wrong with the way i captured it, but nope. Even on the work laptop, using Acrobat Reader, it still renders like garbage.

Screenshotting PDF.
Filling it in using MSPaint.
Printing that.
Computers want to be stupid, i'll be stupid too.
I'm moderately annoyed at how out of all recent windows machines i've got, there's not a single one where sleep mode works.
They all do that thing where they never stay asleep and randomly wake from sleep to go to the login screen.
Hibernate does work at least...
Yeah, i did try going full retro a little while ago but all the maps are so horribly out of date that itβs essentially useless.
21.01.2026 21:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, for me it was Garmin MapSource, i used to have a map with all the tracks from all my travel and pins for the location of everyone i knew, used it for travel all the time.
But then the maps became far too out of date, and the updated version removed that feature.
I don't think they would, but the map side of the thing probably would not have local maps stored.

... until, for some reason, they decided to remove the GPS support and instead have you transfer files.
