One of the great things about AI today, compared to two years ago is hallucinations are rare. However, you need to be on guard as they still occur. This is a classic from Copilot which thinks my correct version of its name is wrong and tries to replace it with a hallucination!

This is depressing. I'm editing a document to remove β€” em dashes (which I originally typed!) because naive folk will mistakenly think they are always a 'tell' for AI written content. They can indicate AI writing, but not always as AI uses them because people did originally.

Is that your MP speaking, or a robot? The shocking truth revealed. | The latest shocking news is some MPs appear to be using AI to help write their speeches for the House of Commons. Frankly, I'd be more shocked if they weren't. The MPs we should be alarmed

MPs are using AI to write their speeches for the House of Commons and the governor of the Bank of England is using AI for his speeches. Are we destined to listen to robot overlords? Some practical analysis and thoughts.

No 10 welcomes creators;
Creators can be relevant not just to brands, but to corporate comms. However, opinions are divided - is this a clever way to engage the youth, or a scramble as this demographic slips away, coopting a tactic of right wing populism?

MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

MIT research reveals many AI initiatives fall flat. Internal AI builds succeed only a third of the time, compared to 67% success for external solutions. Tools like ChatGPT excel for individuals, but not for businesses as they don't adapt to workflows. Shadow AI remains a big problem.

Nuclear-powered AI could make Rolls Royce UK's biggest firm, says boss Tufan Erginbilgic says business deals to supply nuclear power for artificial intelligence could boost its fortunes

AI could make Rolls-Royce the UK's biggest firm, says its CEO. Mini-nuclear power stations (SMRs) are probably the best way to provide the energy needed by AI data centres. A few years ago I worked with Rolls-Royce lobbying for SMRs. AI wasn't one of our examples of what a single SMR could power.

I've been talking a lot recently about how AI might be a renaissance of face-to-face interactions. As realistic digital twins can attend meetings or give online presentations, the value of face-to-face interaction at meetings, events and conferences will explode. Seems Mark Cuban thinks the same.

GitHub - Government-Communication-Service/assist_service: Assist Service | Simon Baugh We’re making the code behind our new AI tool available to all! GCS Assist is the first and only AI tool to be approved for roll out across government. Tailored to Government Communication Service standards and best practice it automates more than 50 comms tasks. More than 3,500 GCS members are now Assist users and it received 11,000 queries last week. It is already delivering productivity benefits of more than Β£5.5m per annum. We often get questions about making Assist available to those outside of the communications profession. While Assist is a tool built for, and therefore accessible to, government communicators only, we're pleased to have recently open sourced the tool’s underlying code. https://lnkd.in/eUTutcQH By making our code visible to others, we’re providing support and inspiration for those who might be creating similar tools. In doing so, we’re also inviting others to adopt our responsible and ethical approach to innovation,...

The UK Government Communication Service is at the forefront of adopting AI for comms. It has built GCS Assist, it's own AI tool. Today it released the open source code. This is a huge opportunity for PR and comms. We can help.
