In other news, the first final draft of The Dead and the Damned should clock in mid February. It's been too long getting this thing finished but fresh eyes have really revitalized it.

I remember saving up $11 to buy this card from my local card shop because I thought it was so badass. Looking back on it yeah, this is an awful card even if you disregard all of modern magic's power creep.

We have entered a new era where some of my favorite musical artist are putting out new songs but then the album art or #music video is loaded with #GenAI slop and it's really killing my soul because both Atreyu and Carpenter Brut have gone this way. New tracks sound great, but I've massive respect.

The Venn diagram of 2 things I care deeply (metal + actually good ttrpgs) about just nudged closer together. What a time to be alive.

I have spent the better part of the last 6 months diving into his work. Despite the melancholy of knowing he is gone, I am extremely grateful to have discovered and submerged myself within his films, along with his many interviews.

I just installed pandoc and trying to get the export to work with Obsidian. I also at least got Scrivener to dump all the .md files into a single .pdf which helps a but but there's still ugly markdown all over it that I now need to go manually edit in Word. Hoping I can get pandoc working.

I'm planning on using Affinity Designer for layout, but I'm not there yet. I'm just trying to put together a no frills playtest draft.

I won't use notion due to my stances on AI. Obsidian is wiki-like and it was great for organization but now I need to dump all this text as one and it's a pain.

Any suggestions for writing tools that work well with game design? I've (unfortunately) written all of my game in @obsidian.md but I'm now finding exporting the files into a single PDF impossible and manual copy/paste into word processor a tedious formatting nightmare. #ttrpg #writing #gamedesign

Just trying to be real here, they are cheap and are going to sound better than whatever gamer headset mic or integrated webcam mic they are rocking.

This is SO true. I have ENnie awards on my walls for podcasting. I cherish those days but goddamn, having a guest who can't find a quiet room, turn off a fan, or use a mic that didn't come in a cereal box just mean hours of scrubbing.

Decent condenser mics are so cheap now there's almost no excuse.

I love when you get a notification like "YOUR PACKAGE HAS BEEN SHIPPED!" but then you look and it just says "pending" for 3 days but then you get another notification like "OMG UR PACKAGE IS ALMOST THERE" but you look again and it just means somebody printed the sticker to put on the box.

I saw a vertical video today of some massive 3d Printed character sheet w/ spinning dials and immediately felt old. 3D printing is great, but too many use it to generate banal future-trash.

Pen & paper is all you need, not sure why #ttrpg gamers are so obsessed with accessories but I kinda hate it.

In HS I was aiming to be a journalist, I then shifted to architecture after enjoying learning AutoCAD. I was "good at computers" and was told there was money there, so here I am 17 years deep in IT / Sysadmin work and I couldn't be more miserable professionally. I'm 40, it's too late to start over.
