He appears in a damaged carving in the Tomb of Puimre, which is around 3500 years old. During this time, housecats were long-eared desert Caracal cats like the ones in these century-old pictures from Egypt. His name is above him, Nedjem or Nojem, which means "Carob Pod". It's often translated "Sweet One", but many other hieroglyphs also mean "Sweet One". Carob was also used for energy, so Nedjem was probably a sweet and particularly energetic kitten.

I maded an infographic about da oldest named cat outta da official tomb sketches from plate IX in The Tomb of Puyemre at Thebes, vol 1, (1922) by Norman de Garis Davies. Da cat's name is not in a cartouche, despite rumors. Cats do not need one. --Loki💛😸
