yeah I'm willing to concede that my hatred of cozy as a genre is mostly a matter of taste and personal principle but this really is a perfect example of how it it serves as a weird vehicle for more sinister politics

really good writing that basically sums up why i hate "cozy" as a genre but also when a dev exclusively makes games that portray terrorizing the working class as cute and relaxing, it almost feels like a critique of the genre itself... but i suspect that'd be giving them too much credit

it's like if the passive aggressive middle manager who says you've been made redundant with a smile was a genre. I can't help but associate it with neoliberal worms who hide their nazi-lite worldviews behind a veneer of niceness, children's cartoons and stuffed animals
