i haven't played origins yet (mainly because it's so fucking expensive 😭) but that sounds pretty good hell yeah

i load my wo3 save file i haven't touched in a few months and get greeted with this
took me a bit until i went "oh right i was playing around with dlc costumes last time"

okay on dw7 specifically i have to hard disagree tbh there are absolutely quite a few objectives you can easily fail

i don't mind that aspect *as* much personally though. map design matters a lot more to me than that

to a certain degree this also applies to samurai warriors 4 but in that game the maps aren't like a literal straight line like wo4's are. but just in general having to wait in front of a gate because the dialogue hasn't finished yet and so you're not allowed to advance yet sucks ass

i could rant a lot about why warriors orochi 4 just fucking sucks in general but that particular aspect is so funny to me. to me a big part of this series' identity is the games having somewhat open maps and the devs just completely threw that out for this game

the contrast between warriors orochi 3 and 4 is so hilarious tbh
on one hand you have 3, a game with very large and open maps. on the other you have 4, a game with extremely restrictive maps that force you to run along a linear path

this is also not a "old games tracking bad" post i like the system a lot actually as stated above but like the everwood just shits all over that and goes "haha fuck you run around for 5+ minutes before you can hunt the monster or bring your valuable psychoserums" and that pisses me the fuck off

it's just incredibly infuriating. like generally i don't think the idea of a randomly generated hunting area is necessarily bad but the execution here is just fucking awful sorry
