FF14 was at it's peak...but like a good story you can't stay there. I think being at your peak breeds complacency, I also think being in the state it is, this should breed innovation and motivation.
I love this game, but I also know it's going to get worse before it gets better.

In saying that, this expansion was a big trial time for new types of content, we have new deep dungeon coming with quantum, chaotic raid, a new relic zone for crafting. 7.3 also brought a more interactive element to the story (sorry story skippers).

I think it says something for the team to recognize that the state of the game is not great. The patch pacing is weird, the jobs are either disjointed (looking at you scholar) or too similar and have lost their job identities, the story was rushed.

I'm just now getting to the rising event. There is something personal about Yoshi P talking directly to your character. The rising wasn't always like this, I think the first time this happened was on the 10th year anniversary (2023) and as someone who played this game for 10 years I was shook.

It's wild that #FF14 is releasing new purchasable attire in 2025 where head gear isn't an option for Hrothgar and Viera.
