He directed a punt with skill and a motor bicycle with discretion. But like many academic persons he did not trust himself to drive a car.
Sir William Searle Holdsworth. Should academics simply be disqualified from holding a driving licence?

It has been confirmed now in a number of places (looks like the original news bulletin may have been in breach of an embargo). Dundalk to become, like Stranmillis University College, a college of Queen's University Belfast from 2026.

Yeah no details besides RTE at this point that I have seen. If I hadn't heard it on the news I wouldn't have mentioned it, but they would be pretty solid so imagine there is something in the offing.

It is very strange as haven't seen it elsewhere either. If it wasn't RTE reporting it, I wouldn't have sent out the message without other verification, but presume that they wouldn't make a mistake on this.

I haven't but am actually on O'Connell now so will have a look. On the former site?

Trump says he will take legal action against BBC, despite its apology
US president tells reporters he will sue the corporation for โanywhere between a billion and $5bnโ
The second Trump administration is characterised by an insistence that others accept the administration's characterisatipn of events, whrther or not they are true. This has happened in US media and the courts. Now they are trying to export it to the UK: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
