I had leftover filling open (from mixing into cheesecake for Thanksgiving) so although I only had a can and a half, went ahead and made a pie
Aaaand now we wait for it ti cool and set

So I opened the spare can and here we go! Lol
Also only my 2nd attempt at a top crust.. π

I'll def keep it in mind the next time I try radishes in bulk.
I wonder if carrot seeds can be used as a seasoning like dill?

No I haven't yet. Radishes have been very much.. temperamental.. here for me. I'm still actively working on amending soil so hopefully I have better luck in the future
Eventually I plan on saving seeds though~
The flowers are very tiny and I don't know if hand pollination is even possible..
That said my method of isolation is to only allow one variety to flower a year. That way I know only that type's genetics are mixing
Technically you can space isolate but.. idk if my yard is big enough π
I'm looking forward to trying the Solar Yellows I planted this year. I'm adding a new variety each year (combined with seed collecting the following springs)~
The solar yellows were the only store-bought carrot seeds I planted this year :P

I've made (gluten-free) carrot cake (and muffins) using these black nebula carrots before.
It turns the batter lavender and finished product purple inside ^_^
The dark ones are Black Nebula carrots. They dye anything you cook purple haha
The reddish one was supposedly purple haze carrots but I think I was scammed online when I got them years ago BUT they do very well and taste good so I keep growing them :P
π± its cold and wet and dreary today.. so pulled some carrots and radishes and green onions to add to some soup tonight

My oven doesn't have a proof setting unfortunately but thats ok
Yeah I can't remember what the lowest my oven allows but its honestly too much. The steam also keeps things from drying and crusting~

These carrots and radishes will go into a veggie bed under the turkey as it roasts in the oven~ π
Update: the rolls and stuffing is complete now β€οΈ

I tend to put a large skillet full of water on the stove top first and let that heat up (med-high) in the background while I work on the actual dough recipe
By the time the dough is ready to proof the pan is boiling and I put the water in the bottom of the oven
The oven light was on because the door was open

I like to proof them in a cold oven with a pan of hot water underneath to give humidity and warmth.

Ready made graham cracker crust and no bake cheesecake with a tiny bit of blueberry pie filling mixed in and drizzled over~
Do you use pre-shredded cheese or do you shred your own?
