Update from TIA's dairy farmlet trial - June 2025 This is the final update for the second season of the dairy farmlet trial. Next month we will take a deeper look at the data that has been collected throughout the trial as we look for a practical way to halve the amount of synthetic nitrogen fertiliser used on dairy farms. Would you like to learn more? Preliminary data and observations from the research team are provided in our monthly farmlet report. Subscribe on our website: www.utas.edu.au/tia/news-and-events/subscribe-to-newsletter The trial is part of the DairyHIGH2 project funded by TIA and Dairy Australia. Can we cut nitrogen fertiliser use in half and still produce the same amount of milk solids from pasture-based dairy systems? We're one step closer to finding out.
TIA Research Fellow Pieter Raedts shares the latest insights from our dairy farmlet trial.

Are you a berry grower in Tasmania? ๐Ÿ“
Our entomologists are advising berry growers in the state to be aware of an emerging pest, the Bronze Leaf Beetle.
Bronze Leaf Beetles chew on leaves, flowers and fruits, causing poor quality and reduced yields.
