The Best Designers Are Not Talking About Design Anymore Why do the designers we look up to seem to talk less about design — and more about everything else?

The best designers are more present with their own lived experience, not just those they are designing for.

If she gets a wildcard. It would be great to see her on a GS court again in some capacity (Doubles? Mixed? 👀).

I was having a conversation with someone about office set-ups and then it dawned on me: I haven’t used more than a laptop and trackpad for the past ten years. 😬

Of course I just spent two hours debugging a component only to find out that the issue was nested with ANOTHER component. 🤣🤣🤣

I love design. ❤️✨

If I can glean one thing from what seems to be never-ending layoffs in the tech space, Its the hope that folx really analyze and adjust how much of their identity they allow to be wrapped up into their professional duties.

As an alternative: Apple would be better off acquiring UX folx who aspired to work at Spotify but were either rejected or laid off within the last 3-5 years.

I saw the same thing and it didn't surprise me at all (sadly). 5-years (a hypothetical figure, of course) of experience pre-pandemic doesnt mean the same as it does present day. -- Id also add that this is indicative of the current state of design mentorship/leadership within organizations.

Hot Take: Companies arent getting enough "demand letters" from folx who use their platforms to take UX as serious as they should.

AI is coming for our design jobs, but it can’t touch taste Why taste, not technical skill, is the designer’s future edge

There are always going to be companies wanting to exploit AI as a way to cut overhead, I just hate the fear-mongering as it relates to AI "killing" design jobs. #UXSky #ProductDesign #UX

Consistent layout makes websites easier to navigate and understand as it helps users learn what elements to expect and in what order. This is especially helpful to low vision users or blind users using a screen reader. It also helps those with cognitive and learning disabilities.

Accessibility win just now.
Client: just make the text red

Designer and UX researcher: we can't use color alone to convey meaning.
