Sunset Limousine (1983, Light Comedy)
Early Martin Short. Can’t put my finger on this one, didn’t keep me engaged. Too much going on, too slow of a build, not sure.

Sharing my discovery of old movies, and some new, with an appreciation for all types. Cinema is a form of documented history, it captures a moment in time beyond just a storyline. Fashion, dialog, casting, etc…I hope you find something you want to watch!

The Ratings Game (1984, Comedy Satire)
Makes fun of the ridiculousness of the TV industry at that time. Definitely has that Danny DeVito humor and charm as his directorial debut. “You’re not supposed to say broad in front of them…” Jokes of the times 🤭
Spelling correction: Hartnett

They classify as horror but not sure I agree, more thriller towards the end since he was on the defensive most of the time. This was less about the murdering and more about trying to guess what was going to happen. Redemption for Shyamalan, Harnett was great.
Fight or Flight (2025, Action/Thriller)
I’d argue also comedy depending on your humor. Lots of fight scenes done well. So glad to see Josh Hartnett coming back. This was a fun one.
Deconstructing Harry (1997, Dry Comedy)
Woody allen movie, most have similar vibes. Great cast, and what was considered vulgar and controversial humor for the time.
If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025, Drama)
One of the best performances I’ve seen from Rose Byrne. Indie feel, how life can really get to you, and feeling alone.
I Like Movies (2022, Comedy Drama)
Very indie, a different view on what pain can do.
Hudson Hawk (1991, Comedy Action)
Co-wrote by Willis, they didn’t want to fit the action/comedy box for the time. Won 3 Razzies, over the top, cult classic.
A Scanner Darkly (2006, Thriller)
Was classified as sci-fi, but not sure I agree with that in these times. Was curiously weird, but I wanted to keep watching. Apparently created using stories from an under-cops experience in the 70s.
Maggie Moore(s) (2023, Thriller / Light Comedy)
Storyline is interesting, not amazing, not terrible.
Carpool (1996, Comedy)
Classic 90s family comedy, really enjoyed it.
Honeymoon in Vegas (1992, PG-13 Comedy Romance)
Indecent Proposal (1993, ‘R’ Romance Drama)
Basically the same story, except one tries to add humor with less sexual reference. I prefer Indecent Proposal, less of the “dumb female” vibes.
The Shadow Strays (2024, Action)
Thin plot, some great female fight scenes.
Marry My Dead Body (2022, Comedy Action Crime)
Silly humor, fun action, still hits the feels.
Pure Luck (1991, Action Comedy)
Goofy concept, old humor fun.
Three Amigos (1986, Comedy)
Classic
Outragious Fortune (1987, Light Comedy/Action)
Silly comedy leading into plot, ending in some light action.
People We Meet on Vacation (2026, Romance)
Cute, not groundbreaking, love the message.
A Raisin in the Sun (1961, Realist Drama)
The movie that got me hooked on Sidney Poitier. What a snapshot in time, with some amazingly raw, and emotional scenes. Fighting for your family, for a future, and for dignity.
Serial Mom (1994, Tru-Crime/Comedy)
Didn’t realize this was based on a true story. Executed with a touch of National Lampoon’s type humor.
The Pagemaster (1994, Children’s Adventure)
Cute, simple story of facing your fears and finding courage.
Popeye (1980, Comedy live-action)
Great portrayal of the Popeye cartoons
Badland Hunters (2024, Action/Sci-fi, Korean with English dub)
Sequel to Concrete Utopia, but can watch without seeing 1st. Wasteland, saving someone in danger, action ensues. With Ma Dong-seok! I like his vibe.
Mother’s Day (2023, Action, Polish with English Dub)
Continuously remade storyline, person fights to get someone whose been taken, entertaining fight scenes.
The Ice Harvest (2005. Dark Comedy Thriller)
Crime heist goes wrong, who-done-it
Roxanne (1987, Comedy romance)
A simple story retold through an 80’s style comedy.
Anaconda (2025, Comedy adventure)
Reborn with humor, while honoring the original.
The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking (1988, Childhood fantasy adventure)
Inspiring kids to dream big, overcome obstacles, and believe anything is possible.
Repli-Kate (2002, Sci-Comedy)
Making her ‘one of the guys’ humorously backfires.
