Sorry I haven't been active, nor posted that "big piece" I was working on. I severely underestimated how much my life would really change with this move and it's a combo of me being busy with all the stuff that comes with moving, and like.. finally being able to go out and enjoy life!! It's nice.

I think a big fandom shift in interacting with stuff has gone from people commenting under the created thing whether it be fic or art to people linking it in private discord groups where the person who made it will never see any positive comments left on the thing they made.

I think the main thing you could do to better acomplish an effect that gets the texture + gradient would be to use some light dithering from white to gray, than gray to black in a few spots. Mix up some extra white spots in there too like on the IRL mushroom. Id also maybe curve the stem a lil bit

Would you be open to hearing some tips+ideas to possibly make this work?

One thing that always makes me feel so much better about my art, and how "me" it is, is by thinking "if I would've shown this to 12/14 y/o me, how excited would they be?" And most of the time, I feel like they'd be so happy to see they'll eventually make this 🥹

Absolutely GORGEOUS work. Out of curiosity, do you make these in something like blender with a variety of pixel-shaders and the like? or is this all done by hand in 2d in a program such as Aseprite or similar? Regardless, loving these!

Not doing that amazingly mentally this month tbh.. I've made a few more practice pieces but eh. But hey here's a new one Im actually quite happy with.
