I can certainly admit I’ve tried to be someone I’m not in many situations, and in this economy? I can’t afford that on every conceivable level anymore lol

obv this doesn’t mean I’m not open to networking forever, I love meeting new people! I’m just not as driven to make it my entire life’s purpose - I feel like in our line of work we can get lost in manufacturing a brand for ourselves that isn’t truly indicative of who we are as people

at this point in my life I’m very content with all I’ve achieved, all I’m going to achieve, living a mostly quiet life with my dogs, husband, & the friends/network I’ve formed along the way.

no more pressure to do or be anything other than a good (semi private) person and good at my job.

once I stopped caring about my “social status” in this industry, how I’m perceived by others both inside and out, my mental health and my work improved

I feel like this is less and less of a problem finally but man, one of my biggest pet peeves is when I find really groovy & exciting new music and the songs are 2 minutes or under.

My prog rock centric upbringing requires every song to be at least 3-4 minutes or longer pls!!!
