The more I read the more I believe that the radical feminist movement was turbofucked by "ex"-Christians who, more than fighting for collective liberation, wanted to prove that they were the most virtuous and least sinful of us all. Purity politics over materialism and organizing.

The reason this matters is that right-wing movements and conservative regimes have similar goals and modes of operation everywhere, but left-wing politics can't even agree on the basics like patriarchy being an issue worldwide, or the oppression of women being something to take seriously.

For folks wondering about the thought process behind this, it's downstream of "the gender binary is Western and colonial", "non-Western societies were precolonial gender-expansive playgrounds", and "transsexuality is a Western phenomenon, it's imperialist to say third-worlders are trans" and such.

For a game that tries so hard to be queer it sure does ignore how many of us have abusive families we can't just live laugh love into accepting us, eh.

It really feels like we can have female protagonists now, but they are never permitted to actually be right, or be righteous. They have strayed from their purpose, and cannot be allowed to actually land the killing blow on their foes---if they do, they have contravened their very nature as women.
